HANGry Bếp
Our story

Mum Hằng's kitchen.

HANGry Bếp was born from Mum Hằng's love for cooking, and our wish to build something that carries her story forward.

Where food begins with family

Never just about eating.

Growing up in a Vietnamese household, food was always how we came together. It was never just about eating — it was Mum expressing her love through food, with big pots simmering away, family gathered around the table, and the familiar flavours that made home feel like home.

Holding onto home

Carrying it forward, here in Adelaide.

As we moved to Australia and grew up here, we realised how important it was to hold onto those parts of our culture. HANGry Bếp became our way to reconnect with our roots, share the food we love, and keep Mum's cooking and our family traditions close.

Our name tells our story. "Hằng" is our Mum, and "Bếp" means kitchen in Vietnamese. Essentially, HANGry Bếp really is Mum Hằng's kitchen.

On the menu

Familiar, generous, full of flavour.

Our menu is inspired by the food we grew up eating and the dishes you'd find around Vietnam — from comforting bowls of Phở and Bún Bò Huế to Cơm Tấm, sizzling Bò Né, Bánh Mì and dishes made for sharing around the table.

We're not trying to reinvent Vietnamese food. We simply want to serve the kind of food that feels familiar, generous and full of flavour — the way our Mum has always made it.
